In her presence a lot, are you?

Must be a couple of years since she and Philip last popped round to ours for a cup of tea and a chinwag.

correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Queen came to Canada a year or so ago...but so that you and you fellow country men understand we here in Canada even though we are our own distinguished country do show respect to your reigning power the Queen of England, because we still belong to the British Commonwealth..

Yeah, yeah. We know about Canada. Mounties and Lumberjacks and Moose - or is it Caribou? PG Wodehouse had one of his characters give a title to a novel in progress
"Toodleoo, Caribou. A tale of the Frozen North"

ya ya...and we know about good old England and the indecencies of 'Longshank'..well..that was just as bad as .. Benito Mussolini (1883-1945)...and that is the past..but the future shows that once again the British are trying to invade the new world..
Oh where are My manners...good afternoon there Bill, trust you had a pleasant morning...it is a mere -12°c this morning here in the new world...

And a very hearty good morning to you too. It was -2 here earlier on which is quite cold for this part of the world. Forcasts of -9 to -11 are doing the rounds and the country is working itself into a panic and preparing to grind to a halt.

Edward Longshanks? Malus Scotorum? (or Malus Scortorum if you like your puns in Latin, which I don't because I never got my head around it)
If you're basing your history on that pile of garbage produced by Mel Gibson (more like a Mel Brooks film) - well, all I can say is that the Scots were, as usual, way out of order. Having said which, the North of England fared little better under most of the Norman Kings, in fact under any of the b@st@rds living in Lunnon Town. The only decent one was Richard III and see what happened to him when the southern propogandists got hold of him.

Neil's from Lunnon Town, by the way. Chelsea Supporter. Enough said. Best to humour him, he's fairly harmless.

all you boys are Bill, and enjoyable welcomed here as you already know...yes, I seen Chelsea's avatar in FFF.., and surprising he hasn't caught on to the idea I'm the same ArticWolf in there as well...cause I don't stay in there do to my time limit on the net, which this site takes up, I haven't been there to read about the antics that you boys have been put through, but if 'scratch' had any part in it , now I know why...it is a shame for there are quite a lot of good tiers there , who I guess put up with crap just to stay there...

Just to put the record straight, it was nothing to do with Scratch. In fact Scratch warned me later on and said that he didn't want to see any of us suspended from the forum - and said I could pass the warning on. Nor were we really badly done by. We had a very succesful thread running - lots of banter but lots of fishing as well. Then we got moved off the front page so to speak and buried in a dark corner. Either the trade members didn't like the threads popularity or some killjoys whinged to Admin until they moved us. The reason we were given for the move by Admin was disingenuous to say the least.
We retaliated in fairly good humour by gently tweaking Admin's tail until we were warned that we were pushing our luck. We left it at that but it left a bit of a bad taste. Nothing serious though. The good thing was that it got some of us here. There's lots of life beyond FFF.

Surprised about Scratch...then again Bill I have had respectful words with him but only in PMs were the staff had a habit of reading...not surprised about the rest that went on, read that more than once...the traders there, not all, but enough have their nose out of joint that's for sure m8...but as you said..you were introduced to here so we all gain the boys and us for sure...BUT...please take no heed to Chris..aka..Redfly...he be 3/4 Welsh, a bit on the old side, slightly senile, and forgets he is in The Wolf's Den at times... [IMG]..he's a good m8 of mine and likes to brow beat me every once in a while....
